Michele Briones

Michele is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She received her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with a focus on children and adolescents from Lewis University, Romeoville in 2009. Michele completed her internship at Will County Health Department where she worked with children, adolescents, and their families. Her experience involved severe and chronic mental illnesses. Currently, Michele facilitates a NAMI Support Group once a month at the Morris Hospital for family members caring for a loved one suffering with mental illness. Michele also works as a therapist for Grundy Area P.A.D.S., which provides shelter for the homeless during fall and winter. Michele’s background is working with children and adolescents as a teacher. She received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Indiana University in 1990. Michele provided individual and group instruction while working with parents to bridge the gap between home and school. Michele also worked with adolescents as a cheerleading coach. Michele was a teacher in Speedway, Indiana for 7 years before she quit, becoming a full-time mother. She has three children: 18, 15, and 9. Training
